Lewis Brander: In Their Trembling Shade
Rye Dag Holmboe
Vardaxoglou Gallery Publishing

A forthcoming publication will survey Lewis Brander’s work from 2018 to 2026. Published by the gallery, the book includes a newly commissioned text by Rye Dag Holmboe, offering a sustained critical reflection on the evolution of Brander’s practice over this period. Holmboe’s essay engages closely with key works made in Athens between 2018 and 2020, situating them within a broader consideration of time, place, material, and elements of the artist’s biography that inform the work. Bringing together paintings from multiple bodies of work, the publication marks an important moment of consolidation and reflection within Brander’s practice.
